About AMDRAS

The Australian Mediator and Dispute Resolution Accreditation Standards (also known as AMDRAS) are the standards that guide training, assessment, accreditation and service delivery for mediators and other dispute resolution professionals accredited under the AMDRAS framework.

THE AMDRAS OBJECTIVES 

The objectives of the AMDRAS include:

  1. To establish, regulate and promote:
    1. Professional standards for Registered Practitioners
    2. The training and accreditation requirements for Registered Practitioners
    3. The obligations of organisations authorised to provide training and accreditation
    4. All aspects of administration of the AMDRAS
    5. The protection of the participants in dispute resolution processes
    6. Public and stakeholder confidence in AMDRAS including mechanisms for engagement and feedback
  2. To ensure transparency, quality, consistency and accountability in the professional practice of Registered Practitioners
  3. To advance the professional status of Registered Practitioners
  4. To provide a foundation on which the AMDRAS Board can systematically reflect, plan, and take strategic action for the development and advancement of dispute resolution domestically and internationally.
